Procedure

3. Mixing and Incubation:

Mix the contents of the test tube thoroughly.

Allow the mixture to stand undisturbed for a specific incubation period.

4. Addition of Sodium Thiosulfate:

After the incubation period, add a sodium thiosulfate solution to the reaction mixture.

5. Observation:

Observe any color changes in the reaction mixture.

A color change from yellow to red-brown or the appearance of a red-brown precipitate indicates the presence of tannins.
